2021 has seen many people looking to move out of the city and into more semi urban locations to reside in. Hence, we have selected 5 great areas surrounding Birmingham and the west Midlands that have so much to offer.
We believe there are many fantastic areas around Birmingham that people will be unaware of, especially if they are completely new to the UK property market.
An obvious option - Solihull is an absolute pleasure to keep in our top 5; situated 7 Miles South Birmingham. With a vibrant, large population this town has almost everything; great transport links (M1 M42, A41), a well connected train station, good schooling, retail / bars and restaurants are abundant and also you have the joys of big green-spaces close by.

2, Sutton Coldfield
located 7 miles east of central Birmingham, The Royal Borough of Sutton Coldfield is delightful medium sized town with history dating back to the Roman period. Somewhat similar to Solihull in some respects; it has many of the same advantages. Great access to public transport for commuting and the road links are well connected North and South being on the M6 Toll.
Boasting one of the UK's biggest urban parks at 2000 acres, its fantastic for kids, dog walkers and any person that enjoys quality green space! there is even a pony park and cattle on the park.
There are some really good schooling boasting solid scores including Bishop Vesey's Grammar School, The Arthur Terry School and Moor Hall Primary School. You can find information on schools on the government website.
An excellent suburb just 2 miles out of Birmingham City Centre. If you are looking for something with the best of both worlds, inner-city living mixed with a quaint terrace houses overlooking a parks and leafy streets, Harbourne is perfect for you.
There are great bus links into the city for commuting. There are also a number of small parks and 2 golf courses to take advantage of. Schooling is abundant and good so the area does attract o lot of young families.
The main shopping high street has many shops and restaurants to choose from, and has a fantastic array of pubs such as the famous Plough and The Stores.

Moseley is situation 3 miles south of Birmingham City Centre. It was voted in 2015 by the Sunday times as the best place in the UK and still holds many titles since.
You can sometimes forget how close you are to a major city in Moseley. The architecture, rich history and leafy parks make it feel almost semi rural at times.
On the main high street there is everything that one could need and more. With many pubs, restaurants, independent retailers and supermarkets there is no need to leave the wonderful town at all.
Looking for a quiet life and easy commute for the spouse? Moseley ticks a lot of boxes.
Knowle is a village situated 3 miles south of Solihull in the south east of the West Midlands. With a population of 11,000 its the smallest of our top 5.
The village has real charm and i'm sure you would holey agree after walking through the parks to the Tudor style high-street with a few small shops and restaurants.
A car is likely to be required living in Knowle. The village is in a lot more rural location, but of course you have the added bonus of the country air and breathtaking walks. You also have Coventry, Solihull and even Leamington Spa close by for more busier built up towns.
Knowle is a fantastic option for young families that want out of the hustle and bustle, there is a good secondary school and primary schools to choose from.
